Our Mission

Matthews Murkland Presbyterian Church is committed to serving God and humanity through sharing, caring and spreading the good news of the gospel.

REV. ALBERT W. MOSES, PASTOR

The Rev. Albert W. Moses has served as an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the PCUSA for over thirty years. He has represented the denomination at every level both locally and nationally. His call to ministry came at an early age while a student at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic School. Pastor Moses received his B.A. degree from Winston Salem State University and Master of Divinity from The Johnson C. Smith I.T.C.

He has served congregations as far south as Key West Florida and as far north as Henderson, North Carolina. His work in the ministry has called him to be a community activist, educator, mediator, mentor, board member, pastor and prophet.

He believes, “God has not called the church to be a refrigerator to preserve perishable piety but an incubator to hatch converts.” His passion is for people and the proclamation of the Good News.
